Indian street food and craft beer

The "Indian Brewery Snowhill" in Birmingham, England, is a unique place that combines the world of Indian street food with an in-house craft beer brewery. Since its founding in 2014, the restaurant has established itself as a pioneer by blending traditional Indian flavors with innovative, house-brewed beers. Located under the arches of the Queensway Arches, it exudes an urban, industrial charm and has become a popular gathering spot for locals, visitors, and beer enthusiasts alike. The operators, a team of family and friends, place great importance on quality, creativity, and the connection between food and drinks, making the experience here truly special.

Lively restaurant in birmingham

Culinarily, the "Indian Brewery Snowhill" stands for fresh, spicy Indian street food with a modern twist. Highlights include the Pakora Pops, crispy fried vegetable balls made of potatoes, spinach, and onions, served with a sticky tamarind dip, praised for their perfect seasoning. Another favorite is the Naughty Chicken, a juicy chicken tikka dish enhanced with a creamy sauce and fresh coriander. The Fat Naans, generously topped flatbreads with options like butter paneer or spicy meat, are also a real treat, offering a satisfying and flavorful choice. The house-brewed beers pair perfectly with the food—especially the Birmingham Lager, a light, hoppy beer with full flavor, and the Indian Summer, a fruity beer that wonderfully balances the spicy flavors of the dishes.

Homemade beers and indian food

The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed. The decor combines raw brick walls with colorful accents and vintage Bollywood posters, creating a nostalgic touch of Indian culture. The open kitchen allows guests to watch their food being prepared, adding a personal touch to the experience. Music, often a mix of classic and modern sounds, creates a pleasant background ambiance, though it can sometimes be a bit loud. The restaurant offers both indoor seating and the option to order takeout, making it versatile.

Traditional indian flavors and beers

The service is often described as warm and friendly, with the team striving to provide guests with an enjoyable experience. However, especially on busy days, there may be slight wait times or discrepancies with orders, which reflects the high demand. The "Indian Brewery Snowhill" is also suitable for larger groups and accepts reservations, making it ideal for celebrations or gatherings with friends. The portions are generous, and the quality of food and beer is consistently praised, although there are occasional criticisms regarding the consistency of certain dishes.

Amazing little spot in Birmingham, we booked on a Saturday and glad we did as it got busy really quickly. The service was friendly and helpful but a little slow. The food was so tasty! The fat naans were fluffy and super flavourful, good portion sizes and great variety of choice for dietary requirements. The staff also were really accommodating to when we asked for a change to be made to a dish to make it dairy free. The downsides: food did come served on paper which quickly dissolved and made finishing off the lovely food quite challenging at times. Our party also bit into a few unwanted items, a few bay leaves is fine but one friend had a whole clove in their food and another had a whole cardamom pod. Both are easily picked out but were discovered too late whilst eating a wrapped naan. The beers were all great too, we ordered a few of the ones brewed by this company and they were all very tasty. I would definitely visit again if I were in Birmingham.

Food was really nice, but it’s so loud in there. They could really do with some insulation. Drinks took quite a while to come out.

Came here for dinner with colleagues. Food was ok but nothing great. Asked for a salad twice but didn't get any answer, nor got the salad... Beer choice was good.

Handy place for food close to Snow Hill station, main meals are around £18, plenty if beer available to wash the food down.

The lady manager was extremely rude. The spicy chill paneer was not spicy at all. When asked about about the ingredients in the dish the manager started arguing and reading the menu back to me again and again. I know to read. The staff was not sure about what was in the food and it tasted really bad. Also, when I enquired the manager assumed that I am asking for some extra food. I was just was curious and did not want anything else but information on my food. I don't recommend the service at all. All the staff kept giving out table weird looks. We are paying the money and they should provide good service to us. Felt they were a bit racist as well.
